Behind the scenes | Dallas child photographer

In an attempt to answer the many emails I get from other photographers and also to encourage everybody out there that has a pretty decent camera but always has wondered why their images are not so full of color, so sharp, so professional looking, I kept meaning to do a before and after picture.. My goal was from every session to pick a picture and to do a before and after of one of the pictures in the session but the work overload took over me so I did not keep my promise..

Here is an images as it comes out of the camera and if you are a professional photographer and you shoot in RAW you know that the images coming out from the camera have a very graysh, bluish tint to them, they are not very sharp at all and the color is just dull. Raw files are so named because they are not yet processed and therefore are not ready to be printed.
Raw images are sometimes called digital negatives, as they fulfill the same role as negatives in film photography. I get asked many times to just take a picture but not process it as processing takes a very long time. If you think back in the film era the negative file was not usable as an image but had all the information to create the end image. It is the same with the RAW files. RAW files contain all the important information to create the beautiful end result you see bellow.

So it our job as professional photographers, to take those Raw files and with our creativity, style and endless hours behind the computer, transform them into fine art portraits…

Tea Party I Dallas Children Photographer

On a day like today when it’s the second day of spring and here in Dallas we have quite a few inches of snow, I wanted warm everybody’s hearts and souls with these images full of sun shine, color, joy and pure childhood fun. As ironically as it may seem we took these pictures exactly one week ago. Only in Texas the weather can change it’s mind so much from one day to another :)

As hard as it is to pick the favorite session ever or the favorite picture ever I think this is one of my all time favorites. Me and Jael put a lot of thought and got our creativity to work to create a fun tea party fit for two of the most adorable princesses out there and of course the prince had to be present too… I think after all the hibernation of this long winter here in the Dallas area we just wanted to go out there and celebrate the beginning of spring and I think kids were as excited to celebrate together with us..

From lemons, to limes, to the tea set, to the daffodils out in the fields, to the most amazing outfits the mom picked for this kids and also to the awesome weather we could have not asked for a most perfect session…

Spring is coming I can promise you that :) . If you are interested for a fresh, fun, unique session with Oh So Posh Photography please contact us @ ohsoposhphoto@gmail.com

Salon Lucien is Open I Dallas hair salon photographer

As an artist I always love a challenge where my creativity is put to test. I was super excited when Nikki from Salon Lucien called and asked me to photograph their amazing, chic and very unique salon. Of course the biggest delight in photographing the salon were the two enormous white tulip bouquets that were part of the decor that day. White tulips are my utmost favorite flowers and I could not contain my excitement when I saw decor. I think Nikki secretly knew my passion for white tulips :) ..

For those of you that have not heard about Salon Lucien… well you are missing out.. Salon Lucien specializes in hair color and is located at 8411 Preston Rd Suite 102, Dallas Tx 75225. (It is next door to the Preston Center Starbuck, the front door is accessible from Kate Street)

Salon Lucien has complimentary Valet Parking for you as well. So, don’t mess with the parking lots outside just let them take care of that for you. They will have your car ready for you when you are finished with your visit.

Salon Lucien carries Kerastase Products (yay!!!), Kevin Murphy, Moroccan Oil, Mason Pearson brushes and several other products.. Kevin Murphy’s line is an Australian line that is completely Vegan and very Eco-friendly.

Call them and schedule an appointment and you will not be disappointed with their service, customer service and quality of their work.. And of course I will let the pictures tell the story of how exquisite, fresh and luxurious the decor and architecture of Salon Lucien is.

Into my garden tea party I Plano child photographer

I am not sure about other photographers but many times i feel like the shoe maker with no shoes. Even though I am a photographer I find that I have less and less pictures of my daughter and that’s because I am always trying to get the perfect lighting, perfect pose, perfect editing. So in an attempt to create some “not so perfect” memories for Isadora I picked up the camera and there we headed for a mother and daughter afternoon. We made reservations for a Princess Tea Party at an amazing place in Plano called Into my garden. Isadora had pink tea and a flower shaped sandwich and for desert a yummy strawberry ice cream sprinkled with magic sprinkles. We sure had an amazing time and even though the light was not perfect.. no natural light in there what so ever…. Isadora’s excitement is showing even through the not so perfect pictures :) .. Now for a change I just wanted to take not the so perfect pictures as life is not always perfect.. life is as is and this is how I wanted to captured these pictures of my daughter.

Dirty and funny faces, cute little fingers with remnants of last week’s nail polish, her favorite princess shoes that are all coming apart :) … these are a few of my favorite things and this is my daughter not quite a big girl but not a little girl anymore. She will be 5 in May…

Mallory Senior 2010 | Dallas Senior Photography

We got up early to drive down to Deep Ellum to our favorite hot spots off Elm Street to meet up with Mallory , a senior at Trinity High School, and her mom and aunt. What a GREAT session…we laughed and had so much fun. Mallory is headed off to Texas Tech next year and we want to wish her the very best of luck, not that she’s going to need it. Watch out Lubbock…you got one snazzy lady headed your way.

In bloom I dallas maternity photographer

We are so glad we took advantage of the one single bright and sunny day in this long and rainy winter we have been dealing with here in Dallas. We almost thought we might have to cancel the session since the day before the photo shoot it was raining cats and dogs :) and thought the field would be way too muddy.. But only in Texas, after a long, rainy couple of days the sun came out and dried out all the rain thus allowing us to shoot this amazing maternity session..

We loved shooting beautiful Sara that is expecting a little girl in April.. We can hardly wait for little miss Landry’s arrival and with such a gorgeous mama she is sure to be the most beautiful little princess :)

Congratulations Sara and we hope you enjoy these pictures!!!

Spring has arrived!!!!!

Last time I posted a few pictures of my daughter it was back in December when we had the snow storm..What an amazing change in just a couple of months… So excited that Spring is here and that things are starting to bloom around Dallas.
