Pray for Kate McRae

I am not even sure I can find the words for this blog… Little Kate… She is 5 years old battling brain cancer… Please read her story and leave a word of encouragement for her family here .. Pray for Kate

Kate lives in Phoenix, Arizona and I came across her story from a blog of another photographer. Myself being a cancer survivor her story touched my heart and I wanted to somehow share my gift of photography with Kate’s family. I flew to Arizona this past weekend to be able to capture some memories of Kate. It just so happened that the same day I flew in Kate and her family got a new addition to the family: Patrick.. the cutest little puppy.. I feel sooo blessed that I was able to be there to capture their first reaction when the puppy first came into their home…

Below are just a few pictures of Kate, her sister Olivia and her brother Will.. I had an amazing time with the kids and now I have a new name… Picture lady:)… The kids called me that cause I probably had the camera in my hands 90% of the time I was with them. I just did not want to miss anything.

Holly and Aaron thank you so much for opening your home so I can capture a glimpse of what an amazing family you guys have.. And Stephanie.. you are such a blessing for Holly and a big thank you for helping me out with my heavy equipment:)..

Hugs to all of you…

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8 Never give up, never let go, cling to the rock. I pray the tumor will turn to charcoal and crumble into dust, never to harm precious Kate again. Love the family and the photos.

Been following her story since hour 1 though I never met her – 2 wks prior or so to Kate becoming ill, I heard Holly speak on “contentment” and that alone inspired me and changed me…now to see this horrific journey and how well if that’s possible she has handled it…I’m inspired everyday in my own life because of Kate McRae and I scream for healing and a sense of normalacy again for this beautiful little girl and her family. What an gift from God you are to this family for capturing a snapshot of their life. Thanks!

Carol - October 1, 2009 - 2:00 am

Lidia, you have given the McRae’s the most precious gift anyone could at this point; the gift of memories in pictures that will last a lifetime. What a wonderful thing you have done for them and I know God will bless you for it. I have been following little Kate’s progress and praying for her and her family also, as I have an 11yr old granddaughter who was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 3. At this point she has been in remission for 6yrs, Praise God. So to the McRae’s I say, “Please don’t ever give up or let the enemy tell you God has forgotten you, because He hasn’t and Never will. God Will be glorified and Kate Will be victorious as He accomplishes His will in her life. God bless you all and know you are in our hearts and prayers always.

Rebekah - October 1, 2009 - 2:02 am

This is the most amazing story told through photographs that I have ever seen. Lots of tears here. We’ve been praying for Kate for quite some time, and this is such a gift that you gave not only to this beautiful family but to all of us who follow her at caringbridge. Bless you, bless you. We are even more connected at the heart to the McRaes through your incredible talent. Thank you so much.

Alexandra - October 1, 2009 - 3:22 am

Julie - October 1, 2009 - 4:07 am

These pictures are such a precious gift to McRaes! I have been following Holly’s journal on CaringBridge since a few days after Kate was diagnosed and they are never far away from my thoughts and therefore from my prayers. I am a mom of a Kate also, now 22, whom little Kate resembles so much at 5 years old. I also have another daughter Alison who is 19 and looks even more like Kate, so the McRae’s battle hits me very hard. I feel like I know all of them even without ever meeting them and I am so thankful to you for capturing these beautiful and precious moments for their family, as it really does put human faces with the reality of the situation. Thank you for your generosity and heart!
