Winner of Rise and Shine Workshop Scholarship

Rachel and I wanted to thank you so, so much for all the amazing and inspiring stories we have received in response to the free scholarship that we are offering for our Rise and Shine workshop. We got so many emails and we wanted to tell you that we were moved and inspired by each and every one of your stories. We wish there was a way to have everybody be part of our workshop.

We made sure we read each and every email over and over to make sure we pick the person that will most benefit from this amazing workshop. And one email really spoke to our hearts and here is a little insert from the email that really touched out hearts:

“Hi.. My name is Brian Bornick and I am writing this on behalf of my wife Michelle. Michelle just went through a major knee surgery on November 15th, hence the reason this is so late. Michelle was injured during her second deployment to Iraq and this surgery was done to hopefully fix her right knee. She is the most amazing, caring, wonderful woman I have ever met and when she walks into a room, no joke…it lights up!
Michelle and I were married 3 years ago, we are both Army officers with multiple deployments and we are parents. Michelle is a stepmother to my children and a blessing to our family. I could go on all day about my wife. She is compassionate, trustworthy, generous, selfless and everyone who meets her falls in love with her. With all these wonderful qualities comes a strong spirit, faithfulness in the Lord and a will to get through anything.
Since finding your Facebook page and blog, Michelle has talked about getting back into photography and I am beyond thrilled. Let me explain why this is such a huge blessing for us. Michelle is school trained with a certificate in digital publishing and has a photography style that is both photojournalistic and creative. Since Michelle’s first deployment in 2003-2004, she stopped taking pictures. There was no explanation, she just quit…blame it on PTSD or depression, all I know is her family misses it so much. As her husband it breaks my heart that such a huge part of her is missing. Michelle has had so much of her interests taken away because of her dedication to this country. Because of her knees she is no longer a runner, a kickboxer, or an athlete of any kind; because of PTSD, her photography is gone. This new interest has been incredible. Michelle talks about it, is making plans to get things moving and saving for a new camera. She has even named her business and purchased a webpage…she named it Michelle my Belle Photography. Then this scholarship opportunity came up and I think this may be the answer to her prayers, not to mention the one thing that puts all the pieces together for her.”

I think after reading this, each and everyone of you will agree that Michelle Bornick really deserves this scholarship!!!
