Hi everyone I’m a friend of Lidia’s, and wanted to share an update since I know so many of you are keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. She’s been is so very appreciative of all the prayers and encouragement she’s received over the last couple of days. She keeps saying she doesn’t know what she did to deserve so many amazing friends and supporters and it’s nice to see her smiling through the tears as she reads the kind words you have all been sharing. Also a huge thanks to Rachel Vanoven for starting the instagram hashtag #ohsoposhstrong … this has seriously given her some light in the midst of this cloudy day.
If you would like to send a card or words of encouragement to Lidia or Isadora, they can be sent to the hospital at this address:

Just to give a little history on what she’s been going through recently for those of you who aren’t aware, she’s been struggling with a variety of health issues since last October. Among other things she’s been fighting kidney stone, kidney infection, bronchitis, excruciating back pain & migraines and mysterious bruising all over her body. On Tuesday she went back to the doctor because this latest round of back pain was not lightening up, and they immediately admitted into the hospital to run a series of tests to see if they could find an underlying issue for this string of occurrences. Of course we were just praying for rotten luck.
Yesterday afternoon they uncovered that the infection she’s fighting right now is being caused by a C. Diff infection which was likely caused from the antibiotics she was on. C. Diff nearly took her life whens he was pregnant with Isadora, so it was hard to hear that she came down with it again.
The next blow of bad news came from the results of her PET scan which showed a significant spot on her lower rib (shown in the photo), right where she’s experiencing the pain. The doctors are concerned because it looks like cancer, so they are doing an MRI on her right now to see if they can get a better look at the bone & tissue to see what all is affected. The next step from here is likely a biopsy to test for cancer. We don’t know if this is breast cancer metastasized or bone cancer. Of course we are all praying that by some miracle this is NOT cancer.
Isadora has been really struggling and missing her mama, and she’s very scared about what might be happening. It doesn’t help that Lidia has to be careful about how many visitors are in the room with the infection she has, and any visitors that can come in need to wear a gown and gloves to be near her. Lidia does not want to mention the scary “C” word to her until they have all the information, but it’s clear that Isadora senses something isn’t good. But even in the middle of this she has been so incredibly sweet, loving and encouraging with Lidia… wise beyond her years just like her mamaShe’s staying at home with her dad, and Lidia’s sister is flying in from Romania this weekend as well to be here with her.
I will keep sharing updates on here to keep everyone informed as we receive results from the ongoing tests. In the meantime I know she appreciates the continued prayers and warm thoughts as she faces the unknown…
